Hope, Prayer and Surrendering

HOPE  by definition means, a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.

 

HOPE lives in our mind and in our heart simultaneously. It sits there patiently being stirred up and kicked around occasionally or fervently depending on our wants and needs. It initiates PRAYER.

PRAYER by definition means, a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God.  

PRAYER is essential in developing and maintaining a deep and intimate relationship with God. It is not solely to be used as a pathway to request actions or give gratitude but also to communicate and be present with our Father who longs for us to spend time with Him. 
Spending time with God, really being present and allowing the Holy Spirit to draw us in and fill us up is where we will learn to SURRENDER.

SURRENDER by definition means, to abandon oneself entirely to a powerful emotion or influence. 

SURRENDER is how we honor God. We give it all to Him. No questions, no conditions just release and submission to Him for His will and His good. This is hard, really hard and requires one to abandon all control and give everything to God. He will take all that you give to Him and use it for only goodness. His holy goodness.  

As I sit on the shore and watch the ocean wash into the sand over and over and over never ceasing, it reminds me that God washes us and submerges us in His love over and over and over again. With each breath we take He pulls us into Him over and over and over never ceasing. How blessed are we to know He is waiting for us to surrender. We are His beloved, we belong to Him and nothing we can do will ever change that.
