Mama Holli made these sugar eggs
I made one for each of my babies!
Can you believe they have
lasted this long?
I store them in ziploc bags
and bring them out for
Holy Week.
I just love them
and
so do my kids!

That just brought back memories when I was in 5th grade. One summer we had arts and craft at the school and I picked to make a sugar eggs.. thing was huge and very pretty.. :( my sisters broke it! Little sisters ugh! LOL
ReplyDeleteAlthough I was spoilt for chocolate when Easter came around as a child of the fifties, my favourites were always these beautifully-decorated sugar eggs, so fascinating to me with their vignettes inside...I'm convinced it was one of my original inspirations to become a Maker...
ReplyDeleteOf course, my Mother never got a chance to save them, even if she had wanted to...=oD

ReplyDeleteThose eggs are quite a work of art and you must be so proud of them. Simple thing like this is likely what will remain as an heirloom and I'm sure will be handed down over the generations.
ReplyDeleteThose eggs are just gorgeous.......what a treasure! Hope you have a fun Easter. Please stop by and say "Hi" sometime!
ReplyDeleteIf we only knew as children how these precious handmade treasures represent love when given to us. My great aunt Sarah was an artist and made these for us many times. I am sure we consumed them all! I credit her genes with my love of arts and crafts and all things handmade.
ReplyDeleteThose eggs are absolutely gorgeous! Happy Easter! :)
