ReplyDeleteIsn't it great how the traditional dishes get a life and name all their own!
ReplyDeleteThat chicken in the picture sure looks sick...this is kinda like the 'fowl' version of tuna surprise, always a well-loved standby..now I have another to attempt!
ReplyDeleteMust make for the family!
ReplyDeleteI have this same recipe except mine has an extra layer of cooked minute rice (about 2 cups) and sour cream and cream chicken soup mixed together. So, put rice over chicken, over that spread the soup/sour cream mixture and then add the stuffing. On top of that, add a few small dots of butter and then about a half cup of chicken broth poured over the dressing. Pop in the over 350 for 30 minutes just like yours. It's amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds yummy!! I'm gonna try it!
DeleteDo you think we could add cheddar cheese?
ReplyDeleteI don't see why not? Because of the cream of chicken soup in the mix maybe go for a white cheese? Havarti, white american or white cheddar. If you add cheese I would layer it on top of the sauce but before the stuffing. Does that make sense? Let me know what you think!
DeleteI made my own cream soup, less sodium & &, added peas & carrots & a layer of Dan-0"s seasoning befor the layer of stuffing! Everyone loved it!
ReplyDeleteThis has become a new favorite in our home! Thanks so much for sharing. And I love love love the story behind the name. I shall make this for weekly dinners for years to come. ♥️
